lap band with a surprise hernia repair in a blizzard!

     Yea!! It's all over - at least the surgery part.  Procedure went ahead during NJ blizzard 2009.  I was at Atlantic City Medical Center where most of snow went.  Lots of poor souls calling saying they could just not get in to the hospital in the snow.  I am so thankful to my wonderful husband who got up at 4 am to drive me down.  The 45 minute drive took almost 2 hours.
     I was very surprised to find out I needed a hietal hernia repair.  I had an upper GI and that was negative.  I think that is what is causing the incredible pain I am having.  I have had 4 c-sections and never had pain like this.  I am still in so much pain.  Tylenol with codeine yea right!  That's a joke.  I know I am only 4 days out but I am hitting the bottle every 3 1/2 hours and I would gladly take it earlier.
     anyone have the hernia repair with alot of pain?

Sorry to hear that you're in so much pain.  I hope you feel better soon.

I had a hernia repair too but no extra pain that I'm aware of.  It may be gas pain that you are having.  Are you up and moving around?  Try a heating pad on your belly, that made me feel better!

hey i noticed that you got ur band by Dr. Reich.. how did it go?  my mom is getting banded by him b.c she lives in manahawkin and its so much more conviente for her.  are you going to the SG meeting tonight?

Thank you so much.  Dr. O is very nice.  I am have alot of pain.  I cannot believe - 8 days out.  I did not even use all of the pain meds after all 4 of my c-sections this is a whole different ball game.  At least I am loosing now!
