Stay away from Delaware Pulmonary in Cherry Hill NJ

For those who live in Burlington or Camden County and are looking for a pulmonologist for pre-op clearance plese stay away from this group.

I had my first consultation at the beginning of the month. I really liked the physician I met with (Dr. Driscoll). He sent me for a sleep study and a chest x-ray. I had the chest xray last Thursday (the 19th) and went for my cardiac clearence after the xray. The cardiologist looked at my films and told me that there was a suspicious nodule on my right lung. I left his office and immediately went to the pulmonary office to have the xray read. Dr. Driscoll was not ging to be in until today (the 27th) and they were just going to put the fils on his desk. I was not willing to wait that long so I asked for another doctor to read it. Dr. Pope read it and ordered a chest CT which I had done the next day. I was visibly upset and the office staff told me that they would call me with the results as soon as they received them.
I called them at 11 am on Wednesday morning and was told that they were on the doctors desk and that he would call me. At 4pm after not hearing form them I called again and spoke with the office manager who told me that Dr. Baumgarten had my chart and he was in the hospital. I asked them to fax it to my primary because I needed answers. She told me that she could not do that because they were with the doctor. She went on to tell me that they had been paging him all day and that he had not called back. What kind of doctor is that that does not respond to repeated pages from his office staff?
In the mean time I called the place where I had the CT scan and had them fax the films to my primary who called me and told me what they said. (Basically that there was a nodule and he wanted me to have it biopsied to see if it was cancer). My sister also picked up the films and report for me.
The next morning "Gail" called me at 9am and told me that they did NOT have the results of the CT scan and asked me for the name of the place where I had it done so that they could call and get the  results. Ok so whick is it? That was the third story so far. She told me that she was going to get the results and have the doctor call me back. ( Gail called me on my home phone at 8:53 that morning didn't get an answer then called my cell phone which is what I told them to do the day before and spoke to me) All day at work I was a nervous wreck waiting for the doctor to call me back and he never did. When I got home from work I had a message from Dr. Baumgarten on my home phone at  10:23 am. Now if you already called me at home and knew I wasn't there and got in touch with me on my cell phone why then would you leave a message on my home phone? All he said on the message was Dr. Driscoll will be in tomorrow call and make an appointment with him.
So this morning 8 days later I called at 9:43 am and requested Dr. Driscoll to call me.  Again after waiting all day for a call that never came, I called the office at 4pm and asked for Gail and told her that he had not called me. She said oh really well he is done seeing patients for the day hold on. She came back to the phone and said he hasn't looked at the report yet so make an appointment for next week. HUHHHHHHH???????  
 I was so pissed I was like you guys have done nothing but screw around with me for the last week. I had them just fax my chart to another pulmonologist.

Does anyone think I am overreacting about the whole thing? Please tell me honestly.

I agree with Tom and the others. Lose this doctor like a bad cold and find a new one who is serious about his patients...this other doctor seems to care less.

You are not over reacting. You should not have gotten the run around.  I hope your new group is more professional.

I have another pulmonoligist Regional Pumonary in Cherry Hill. I will be seeing Dr. Chang but the earliest appointment I could get was next Friday. After talking with a doctor i used to work with I am going to try and get an appointment with someone that has priveleges at Deborah Heart and Lung since I am right around the corner from them,

I go to Regional also. I see  Dr. Spirn. he is very good at his job. he doesn't beat around the bush and he is very personable and the office is staff is nice and helpful too.

I had one visit with Dr. Chang and he is right on the money. I am glad that I switched over and hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out!

You handled it better than me because I would have went in that office raising Hell...Im glad you faxed your stuff elsewhere because this is a serious matter that needs to be handled promptly...
