Confused between the Lapband or Realize Band

I actually asked Dr Bertha last week when I spoke to him (during Pre Op class) why he preferred the Allergan Lap Band over the Realize Band. His answer was that he has been working with the Allergan Lap Band for over 8 years in this country and the Realize band was developed outside of this country therefore has not been used as long in the US as the Allergan and is a little more difficult to predict years down the line how the Realize band will fare. He did say tho if the person has a strong belief in the Realize band he would put it in...
