How long does it take you to eat a meal?

I have heard that you are supposed to stop eating after 15 minutes, but I eat really slowly and then I have to sit still for like 20 minutes of the food gets stuck. So it usually takes me at least 30-45 minutes to eat a normal amount (like 75% of a lean cuisine lets say). So my question is really, I am only supposed to eat 1/2 the Lean Cuisine (I am 11 months out, mind you) or should I keep up like I am?

I don't take long enough...and i suffer for it. sigh
We were told don't drink 30 minutes before a meal.
Take 30 minutes to eat your meal.
Eat no more than a cup at any time...work up to that
Dense protien first, then veggies/ fruit then carbs if room but only high quality carbs
Don't drin****il 30 minutes after.

Nothing about sitting stilll.  I have two small kids so sitting still doesn't work.

That is my biggest problem.  I was told that I couldn't drink 30 min before or 30 min after a meal.  I have to take at least 30 min + to eat a meal.  I will say its not the easiest thing in the world to do.  I suffer because if I eat too fast I do tend to get sick and vomit.  Not the nicest thing to do.  (sorry)
But then on the other hand if it takes 30 + minutes to eat a meal....your food is cold and nasty who wants to eat it at all.

Is there any good solutions to this?

When I first went to the doctor and he told me I should be taking at least 30 minutes to eat, I laughed, literally. Since then, I set my timer and I purposely take my time and wait. At first, I thought I was going to die, lol. Now, I am getting used to it. It makes a huge difference.

I am a 30 minute man too. I use a stop watch to make sure. I take a bite every minute, and I make sure I chew my food 30 times (ok, there are times I forget - but then the band "reminds me").

The main reason to take your time is because most experts say it takes 20 minutes for your body and your brain to complete the communication exchange that finally tells you to stop eating because you're full. And I beleive it !!

Hope this helps !!
Good Luck on your Journey !!
