OA meeting w/ WLS focus in Jersey????
I was at an OA meeting on Saturday where one of the people mentioned that there was a group with a special focus for WLS. Although the woman knew that the group met on Tuesdays, she didn't know anything else. It is not a registered meeting, so I couldn't find it on the OA website.
Has anyone heard of a meeting like this? The support meetings are terrific, but I find that OA helps me with the day-to-day dealings with food and my relationship to it.

Yes they are almost exactly like OA, AA, etc. They meet on Tuesdays in Bound Brook. You have to be "invited" before you can go. Hopefully someone will have the contact info...it wasn't for me so I never persued it. I do run a peer to peer support group for pre and post ops every month in Scotch Plains. Our next meeting is on Jan. 10 at 10:30. We meet at the RWJ Fitness and Wellness Center, 2120 Lamberts Mill Rd. Please come if you can!

I've been an OA member for 30 years and find the support I find there very helpful. There is a posting about the meeting that says nothing about having to be invited, so I'll be going over there next Tuesday. If they kick me out, I'll find another meeting to go to.
