I didn't use them.  i did try gas x but later read that the gas we have after surgery is different and gas x doesn't help.  just walking and getting around helps.

Hi Denise,

I'm not familiar with Devrom but I have used Gas-X thin strips.  They actually taste ok, minty and dissolve on your tongue.  I would suggest that you ask your surgeon before using anything.  Sticking to their rules, in anything, is always a good idea.

This other posted reply suggested moving around and that is always a good idea when one has gas.  Once you are back to sleeping in a bed (I used a recliner chair for 2 weeks post-op) and have gas, turn from one side to the other gently, every 15 minutes or so.  This will help get the gas to move along more easily.  Keep in mind that narcotics usually make one constipated but you should not make yourself suffer, use the pain meds.

Good luck, keep us all posted,
Andrea

Hi Denise - Devrom is NOT an anti-gas pill -- for that use Gas X.  However, once you are out several months from surgery, you may (note I said may -- not everyone has this), encounter that your 'farts' and '****' (to put it bluntly) are very foul smelling -- Devrom is an Internal Deoderant -- which does help this problem.  I use it myself and my husband and family are grateful!

Good luck.
