I HAVE A QUESTION??
People who lose weight rapidly, (such as those who have Bariatric Surgery), are at an increased risk for developing Gallstones. You may or may not have had some of those stones before your surgery. Many surgeons will require an ultrasound of the gallbladder before surgery to see if you already have stones. If you do then, frequently, post-operatively you will be put on a medication called Actigall which will help prevent the formation of more stones. If the stones have developed since your surgery and are giving you problems then, usually, the only course of action is to have your gallbladder removed.
I hope that you're feeling better soon.
Regards,
Kathryn
