Extremely Upset with Myself !!

They say confession is good for the soul - well ... I hope it’s also good for the stomach!!   Yesterday I stepped on the scale and noticed I GAINED 7 pounds.

I know WHY I gained, and I am extremely upset and disappointed in myself. I thought I had it all under control during and after Thanksgiving  - well I can see I am wrong.

I cannot believe I have once again sabotaged myself. For 10 months I was doing great, and for the first time in over a decade I finally got under 300 pounds. Thanksgiving came, and I don’t know what happened (Ok I do - lots of bad carbs). Now I am afraid it won’t stop.

I have been beating myself up over this. But the one good thing, I haven’t resorted back to my old habit of self pity eating - but Lord knows I wanted to.   I feel I am back on track, but again who knows. I hope and pray this was a minor setback, and I can resume back to loosing. Good thing I get to see my Doctor on Thursday   Like any addict, I needed to make sure I was honest about this.

No need to reply. Hopefully publically announcing it will help me stay focused.

Have a Happy Holiday
Good Luck on your Journey !!

Thanks MinnieVanMommie for the kind words. While I agree with you 100%, I know I am not normal - hence the reason I am here. But that's ok. I know it's a long journey, and a lot of learning along the way.

Well I went to my Doctors today, and got some good news. I have lost any weight I have gained. So that's GREAT news for me. I explained to the Doctor what happened, and he said the same thing you said. He thinks I may need another fill, BUT it's my call. I said I want to wait another month to see what happens, and if I find myself "yo-yoing", then I will. For now, I think will power maybe all I really need.
Good Luck on your Journey !!

Tom, I'm glad you are coming clean and seeking support here and from your doctor. The important thing is, as you said, not to slip back into old habits. Stay strong, look ahead, and take it one day at a time. You've come too far to give up. You've proven to yourself that you CAN do it. I'm proud of you and many people are inspired by your success.

Just remember Tom..even so called "NORMAL' weighted people fall off the band wagon on occasion....It is a new lifestyle we are learning.....it is ok to eat....just keep it in check...like you are doing...unfortunately we all just think that if we fall of f the bandwagon ONCE we blew it totally....

MinnieVanMommie you are such a positive person. I know "Normal" people fall off the wagon - however THEY KNOW HOW TO GET BACK ON. In the past, once I was off the wagon - I was done.

The personal positive thing that came out of this was I was able to get back on track, and lost the weight. I hope not to fall off for Christmas and/or New Year's.
Good Luck on your Journey !!
