Major Setback....Insurance problems.

Well you know the old adage, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. I got a phone call today from Dr. Brolins office that he's not in my HMO network. Now, keep in mind, I called and checked with my insurance company BEFORE I made the appointment. Apparently, I was "misinformed". So all the work I have done already is down the drain. I must find a new doctor who is in my network. Then begin the process again.
I cannot begin to tell you how upset I am. I know it's not the end of the world, but it is a huge disappointment to me. I cried all afternoon. My husband, whom I love to death, was not so understanding. His response was, what's the big deal and just go find another doctor, oh and get this....why don't you just change your eating habits. Now, please don't think the worst of him, he can't help it, he's too thin to know any better. That's my outlook on his attitude. He is very supportive, but he's never had a weight problem in his life, so he's never faced the torment of living inside this obese body.
Anyway, I am going to begin the process of finding another doctor. Thank GOD for this website!
Thanks for listening......

hi shannon

i used a dr earl noyan out of robert wood johnson in hamilton.  i was happy with him.  maybe you can check him out and see if he takes Aetna HMO.

also i would post  your question  again on the jersey board and see if any other people know docs who take aetna.

you could also call your insurance and ask them who you could use or call the local hospitals and ask the same question.

dr. noyans number is  609 585-2447  he does not have a fancy program though through his office.  i never went to his support group i go to one here locally.  when i had the surgery 2.5 years ago he did not have a NUT working with him either.  however i was happy with him.

if you want to talk more, private message me and i will give you my email or phone number and if you want we could meet up and talk

be well, jacki

Hi Shannon

Hang in there!   It's worth the effort in the end.

I'm from north Jersey so I can't help with a doctor but the people on this board are great - I"m sure someone will speak up & help!

Good Luck!

I use Dr. Bertha, I am not sure if he accept your insurance co or not. You might give them a call. I am having my surgery at St. Peters. Its not too far from where you live.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

Dr. Marc Neff in Cherry Hill takes Aetna. I know because that is the insurance my friend has and he did her surgery as well.

I can not recommend a better surgeon than Dr. Neff.  He is the kindest, sweetest, best surgeon that I have ever met...and I have had numerous surgeries starting as a baby -- I had severe club feet.

His phone number is 665-2017.  There is a group meeting in Voorhees on 11/19 at 7pm.  Here's the link: http://www.kennedyhealth.org/ME2/dirmod.asp?sid=&nm=&type=ev ents&mod=Events&mid=70011D51BAE64A618C07DA22161E68F1&tier=3& eid=90B7DEAE4C214105AB38E125DE192100

Good luck! Hopefully, you can use everything you already have and won't have to start from the very beginning.

14 pounds lost before surgery. My first ticker is when I hit onderland: this was my goal when I started on this journey.  I want to focus on that right now...once I get there I can reevaluate.

My second ticker is my dream goal. Even if I only visit there for a short time, it would be nice to see that number just once.  I am pretty sure I'll need plastics to hit this goal.
