Ok so its been a decision in the making for 2 years only because I have anxiety disorder so I needed to feel comfy with the decision before anything else.

I have amerigroup/medicaid and I was wondering if anyone knew any surgeons who take this

Hi jrsygurl520,

I am from Middletown area too. I grew up in Middletown, behind sears on Rt. 35. I also have medicaid My HMO is Horizon NJ health. My surgeon may take amerigroup, you can call him DR. Ducheine 973-674-4042 He is in East Orange NJ. If you would like to go to a support group meeting there is one at Bayshore Wellness Center in Airport Plaza on Rt. 36 Hazlet NJ. The meetings are on the first Monday of every month, September's meeting which would be this Monday, but because of the Labor Day Holiday it won't be held until the first Monday in October which is the 6th of October. I Hope that I might see you there, if not you can e-mail me here with any questions that you have neighbor. Anyway, Good-Luck with your journey. Let us know how you are doing.

Which type of weight loss surgery (WLS) are you interested in having? That makes a big difference in which surgeons to direct you to... Congrats on making the decision, and hopefully, the rest of your research will go smoothly! Mary C

I live off port monmouth road btw you are so close nice to know someone is in my area.

As far as which surgery I would like to get i would prefer the lap band but in order to qualify I have to lose about 50lbs so my pcp started me on a protein liquid diet if thats what its called. The more I lose before the more secure I will feel getting the surgery.

Any leads would be great as I am still learning the different types of surgeys but ideally laproscopic woud be nice as I had by gallbladder out that way 2 years ago and I healed in no time
