So today is one year out for me and I have lost a total of 86 lbs.  I went to see Dr. Bertha yesterday for my 1 year check up and my lab work was great.  He did tell me that I should have lost more weight then I have....I told him I stopped my protein shakes about 1 month ago and he said that could cause the weight to stop.  So I started back on my protein shakes again today.  I feel so full.  He said the more protein the longer you will lose the weight.  So hopefully my weight loss will get back on track and I will start lossing again.  I want to loss another 50 lbs so it will be tough but I am going to try my hardest.......hopefully I will hit my goal by my 2 year.

by the way I posted new pictures if you are interested.
talk to you all soon.

Thanks, Dr. Mike.

I am exercising and going to support groups when I have the time but it is hard because I work 2 jobs. I fit in both when I have time.

Thanks again.

Wow Michelle! Congratulations!  You look wonderful.  That is interestering what he said about the protein.  The Nut told me at my last visit to get all my protein from food.  I told her I liked to start the day with a shake so I knew I would make my protein for the day so she said to keep it in.  I am sure you will lose the rest of the weight you want to lose.

Thanks so much.  I was suprised he said to keep doing the shakes too.  I thought as long as you get it from food it is okay.  But he want me to continue the shake and i will because I trust him as a doctor.  He is so helpful.  I am also looking into the Kingley Institute for some information.  Dr. Bertha also told me to look into it because it helps with many different things including fitness and nutrition.

I agree about the shakes, I had slacked off too and now have one every day on the way to work...on weekends, I try to get them in, it's hard. You need to make the shakes interesting, not just protein powder and water. I add things and really make them tasty like a real thick milkshake we used to when we were fat! I have been able to maintain my weight loss for about 8 months and feel great. It's easy to go back to old habits and add carbs now...you still have the opportunity to lose more so follow Dr. B's advice and add a protein shake or two every day. You can also get muscle milk or EAS ready to drink, they are yummy.
