ok guys

the journey continues and it's going down an different avenue now -- we are on PS Blvd -- and ready to start hacking off ross's skin

the surgeon is
Stephen J. Kovach III, MD
3400 spruce st
phila, pa

if anyone has any experience with this surgeon or group please share!!

i have learned alot about medical offices lately -- MOST will not take private insurance for plastic surgery even when it is deemed medically necessary -- i was referred to a hospital to find a surgeon -- plastic surgery might be medically necessary but it is not life threatening so that makes it easier for surgeons to turn patients away -- the insurance companies don't pay enough so they look specifically for self paying individuals who are going to use credit -- OR -- most i talked to take medicaid -- so my ****y little self copped an attitude -- if you work and pay for health insurance you won't do the surgery -- but if for some reason i was unable to work and taxpayers were paying for my surgery then i could be in there the next day?????  now don't get me wrong, i'm not putting anyone down -- but i don't understand the reasoning of the surgeons -- medicaid for the most part pays LESS than private insurance companies for procedures -- sometimes i just sit back and shake my head at life ................

so that is where we are at -- waiting for an appt on october 20th  (hey michelle -- that's 2 days after your anniversary!!)

good luck everyone

Glad to hear you finally found a surgeon guys!  I haven't posted in a while but I just thought it curious that there where actually doctors (plastic surgeons I assume)  who will accept Medicaid??  For plastic surgery?  You can put me down, unfortunately I have Medicaid which I am not proud about but right now I am on disability because I had some serious mental health issues.  I hope to eventually go back to work.  You wouldn't like to share a doctor or two who you called would you?  You can email me privately at [email protected] if you don't want to post them.  Good luck to you both.

Roberta,

I am so happy for Ross.  You are so right about the insurance issues and PS.   Alan did most of the push and got me through with Francine.

One question, I had Adrian do my first panni and I had to pay cash.  I wanted to use him for this last surgery but Schurcht told me he doesn't take any insurance cases.  I know he didn't take it 4 years ago.  He does alot of kids, pro-bono.

If he does take insurance I am going to consider him for my thighs and breasts

Again, I am so happy that Ross is on his way.  Please keep me posted and if he has any questions PM or send to my personal e-mail.

Hi Kim,

If Adrian accepts your coverage, PM .  Adrian did my first panni in 2004.  He is a wonderful surgeon and human being.

Good luck with your journey.

Thank you Roberta and Thank you Jeanne,
I wish you both good luck (and of course Ross) and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.  I'll let you know how I make out.  Right now I have to get through going to an oral surgeon and having two teeth pulled tomorrow.  Thank goodness they are putting me to sleep.  Take care all and have a safe holiday weekend!

The nurse in my surgeon's office used Dr. Rose and was very pleased. Some of it was covered by insurance. He is in Middlesex County, I believe.

hi sheri

how you been??? thanks so much for the info :) but we need it ALL covered by insurance -- we poor folk here and ross has real crappy credit so that is out of the question -- that's why i needed to know the exact difference in the medical termiology of the panni and the abdomnoplasty -- it's all in how you ask for things lol

btw i'm on a kick now of buying dresses lol  i LOVE to wear dresses now lol

take care

Hey Roberta,

I just caught the surgeon's address.  Is he going to operate on Ross at Pennsylvania or HUP?  Please keep me posted.
