Support Groups in Monmouth County, NJ???

Does anyone know of any support groups in Monmouth County?

you should contact  centra state in Freehold they have a bariatric center but I'm not sure their support group is open to people that are not their patients

Hi, there are two that I know of:

Monmouth Medical, Long Branch

Centrastate, Freehold

Even though I was operated on at Centrastate, I prefer the Monmouth Medical Support group.

I've heard pretty good things about the support group at Centra State but someone told me to attend you have to pay to see their nutritionist if you weren't banded there.  I really should call & check it out, it's so close to where I live and I should start going to a support group.

I am from Monmouth County too, I heard that Bayshore Hospital has a Bariatric Surgery Program there now.  The Surgeon who runs it is the one from Centra State Hospital in Freehold.  You can call them, and find out if they have any support group meetings there.  Bayshore Hospital if you don't know already is in Holmdel NJ, 732-739-5900 or Info about there Bariatric program 732-794-3316.  I don't know if they have a support group there, but maybe we can find out about starting one. I just found out that the Bayshore Wellness Center In Hazlet, NJ on RT. 36, has a Support Group it is on the first Monday of every month, except for September because the first Monday for that month is Labor Day, so it will start on October 6th which is the first Monday in October.  The time is from 7-9 PM.  The Bayshore Wellness Center is in Airport Plaza.  The corner of Middle Rd. and Hwy 36.  I have been looking for a Support group closer to me for along time.  Now I have found one myself.  There is no cost, and anyone is welcome.  I hope to see you there.  Take Care!!!

Melissa, thanks so much for finding out about that!  I have a gym membership at Bayshore Wellness and did not even know about the group there.  My surgeon was in the group who is now operating at Bayshore Hospital, but I had surgery in Freehold (live in Cliffwood Beach) and don't really want to drive to Freehold.  Thanks again!
