New To This Site - Need InPut Please

I am new to this website. I had my Gastric By-pass (GB)in 2002. It has been successful and I lost 100 lbs in about 6mo. Yes, I am happy I had the surgery!
However, I have had some side after effects. In Feb 2007 my intestines twisted very badly, so I need emergency surgery to untwist them, and they also removed my appendix just because it was there. This could not be done laproscopicly so I had a rather large inciscion down my stomach. But that's OK.
The following Oct I developed 2 hernias on the incision, so I had them removed and the Dr. placed a mesh netting inside to strengthen the site.
Last week after dinner, I couldn't keep anything down all night (sorry, don't mean to gross you out but I know you understand) In the morning I made an appointment to see my Gastro Dr. (still not keeping anything down) She said I would need to be scoped and I should admit myself to the emergency room.
Had a CAT SCAN (Isn't it great to drink that stuff) To make a long story short, I had a "Bezoar" in my stomach. This is kind of a "furball" of sorts, but it consisted of food that had not been digested properly. So is wads up together and blocks the food coming into the stomach.
The Gastro Dr ( another member of my Dr.'s group, never met him before) said he could not get to it properly and felt I needed my surgeon. The surgeon (a member of my Group, but I hadn't met him ever) never got the right message and thought it was removed by the Gasto Dr. during the scope. When they finally spoke, the surgeon felt I have had too much "work" done in my stomach area and that
scoping would be less invasive.He stated he would read up on bezoars and get back to me the next day. So the next day, I was taken for the scope,
The Gastro Dr. said he had no idea what this would involve and how long it might take and that he had all types of instruments if necessary. So I was put to sleep and woke up 20min. later. Nearly all the 7 people were gone, the nurse said that I was awake. The Dr. stood in the hallway and said "Its gone" I asked " You got it all out'? He said, No, It was gone!
They then took my blood pressure and it was 190/170. May I say that I have never had any blood pressure issues even at my heavest weight of 269. So I had to remain in the hospital yet another night, (still on liquids) to get the pressure down. I truly believe it was due to STRESS. I was finally released on Fri.
However, no surgeon or gastro Dr. came to see me before I left, only my GP.
The bottom line is am very fustrated the there are no follow up programs for people who are 2-3-4 plus years out from their surgery. Dr A, doesn't talk to Dr. B, or C .
The support groups are basically for the new patients.
It is very hard to find anyone that understands that our bodies function differently from reg. people.
As of today, I still have this feeling like heart burn and am belching alot. I am trying to get an appointment with MY Gastro Dr. to find out what is wrong.
I could use your suggestions or feed back, or suggestions.

How awefull and agonizing that must have been and still is it sounds.
I am sorry you are having such difficulties.
I totally agree with you regarding the support. I think the problem is that people this far out stopped asking for support and thought they were home free that is untill something like this happens that sets them in a tailspin. and as far as the DOC's are concerned I wish I knew the answer for them not having any answer for fhose of us farther out..
Man.. I wish you all the best and hope this ordeal is over soon..

Kitty,Let me start by saying I am sorry you are having all these issues.Have you thought about changing docs?I know it can be difficult to find a new one postop,seems like noone wants to treat us if the didn't do the work.My surgery was done by Dr Pupkova,@ Barix in LAnghorne PA.She used to be with your docs.If you aren't familiar with BArix,you may wanna check out their site.Bariatric surgery is all they do.I know some who have had issues a few years out & Barix was awsome in resolving those issues

im so sorry you have been having these problems, and frankly at two years out, it scares me when i read all this stuff.
i think your best hope is to see your regular gastro and follow up with him or her. what worries me is how many of these problems happen to the general population as opposed to weight loss surgery patients.
i did some reading on bezoars, and im not sure how current the info is, but it does say that it is common in people who have had stomach surgery, disease etc.
i wish you luck and hope you feel better soon

I go to the one at St. Clare's in Dover. It tends to be mixed group of early post op and people out for even 4 or 5 years. some have had plastics etc. So you may find some people further along to talk to.
It meets the third wed of each month.
