Hi Everyone,

I am so sad right now, I don't know what to do.  All my life I felt like I just never fit in anywhere.  Everytime I get a job, I do my job beyond what I have to do, but I always get the **** end of the stick.  Over 2 years ago I was out of a job, I do Office work.  I kept going on Interview after Interview but I know why I wasn't hired because of my weight.  Anyway, I went to a Temp agency and they found me this job, and my boss here was so nice, and so layed back.  Anyway,  he was married for 20 years and this girl Jan who he was messing around with, he finally left his wife for her.  About 7 months after I started here she came to work with us here at the company.  She was so nice to me at first, and so was everyone else, but after I started losing the weight, she started doing things to lie on me, and my boss is so memorized by her, he doesn't see what she is doing, now she has gotten him to be mean to me.  She has even gotten other people against me.  To make it short and simple they have no reason to fire me because I do an excellent job, and am dependable, so I think they are trying to get me to quit.  I think she has a friend she wants to give this job too.  Anyway, I don't want to give them the satisfaction of quitting, but I feel so uncomfortable here, this is the best job I have ever had. What do i do????.

Sticky situation....

Is there a senior manager or otherwise that you trust and could approach regarding the way she is treating you... Are you working with the temp company or the company directly?

Melissa,   I know NOW it’s rough, but my advice is tough it out. I’ve too have been in a similar situation more times then I care to remember, and the one (funny) thing that occurred in all those instances - the person finally got it in the end. It was right away, sometimes it took years, but each troublemaker eventually p*ssed of the wrong person, and they were gone. You’ll see eventually your boss’ affair with her will end, and they will have a falling out, and she’ll be gone.   In the meantime, start looking for another place. Contact a head-hunter and see what they can do for you.     Know, this is just another stumble on the road to life. You’ll get through it.

I agree with Tom.....go in, do your job, and leave.  Also, I would kill them with kindness.  Think of it as a game if you need to.  You're a better person than they are and they are extremely jealous because of your weight loss and it's quite apparent they are miserable people!!!  So hold your head high and show them who's boss!!!

Hi Stacey,

I already spoke with someone in a higher position, and he is going to stop the nonsense, because he says am an asset to this company.  Also I was with the temp agency for the first 90 days, I have been on with the actual company for almost a year and 1/2 now.  So almost 2 years in total..  So I know my boss knows what type of worker I am now.  Anyway, am gonna hang in there, if they want me out of here they will have to fire me.

Hand in there Melissa.  It's a tough situation, I've been there myself and I promise you, when you give people like that enough rope they will always hang themselves.  When I started in my job 9 years ago there was a B***H who had it out for me and did everything she could to get me fired.  I was miserable but I made sure I did my job better than she ever could and she ended up realizing that she wasn't irreplaceable.  Guess who came out on top   You will too.

I happen to be a headhunter so if you need any resume help or other career advice I would be happy to help you, feel free to PM me.
