Protein Bars
Hi Gang.
Long time no see, I know : ) I am doing okay, living in the North of Maine, working hard trying to get back on the weight loss wagon. I live in a VERY remote area, and I am getting back to basics,... Water, Exercise, Protein....
I have started supplementing with protein drinks but I could use a online source for protein bars. I know about N101 and a few other sources, but I am the original cheap guy, looking for a protein bar source with 20 or greater grams of protein with fairly cheap price per bar.
Overall.. I am GOOD.. had a really rough winter but trying to get back on the wagon... I have a 10 speed and I have been walking and riding, and found a gym (well its a rehab center but has some gym gear).
I hope everyone is well,... my goal is to try and make the annual Walk (?) at the end of the summer if you still have that.. or maybe a visit this fall to one of the meetings.
If you have any suggestions where to buy Whey protein bars, either leave a message or email me? I would appreciate it : )

good to see you here on the boards, its been a long time.
i can hardly believe i had my two year surgiversary this past saturday, and you were the first person i met at the lakewood meeting, and you inspired me greatly.
as to cheap bars, i dont know, im not a good cheap expert. i use atkins bars most of the time because i dont buy in quantity due to boredom, and they are availalbe all over in stores.
i guess the best thing to do is cruise some of the online bariatric sites and see what you find and maybe you can find the bar for you.

Seriously when I first met you... dont hit me.. but I didnt think you were overweight.. I thought you were a friend of a potential surgery patient.. because you have a slight frame... but looks are deceiving... your photo reflects all the hard work and success you have done, and you really look SWELL Sis : ))) good job... I miss you people more than you know.
It encouraged me and made my day that you said I was able to encourage you in a small way.
I never knew that you were encouraged by me, it made me smile and encouraged me *back* to know I helped a little bit ... its what our support and comradariery (remember I cant spell) is all about doncha know.
I BADLY want to attend a Lakewood or TR meeting...
and either the end of summer walk or the Christmas get together...
I am even seriously considering moving BACK to New Jersey.. there are lots of Substitute Jobs, in New Jersey (hey I worked a year in ASBURY PARK charter school where the ethnic makep was..... challenging but I never enjoyed a year or kids more then those kids.
( so informal poll.... think I should examine moving Back to New Jersey? Whadda think?)

I am still certified as a Subsitute teacher in Jersey... the ONLY reason I left.. well okay two reasons...hmmm three reasons?
I was broke no money
everyplace rental wise seemed spendy
/and needed some distance between me and ...issues I guess.
Yeah yeah thats the ticket... issues I say ..yeah.. yeah..
But hey its a new Time, new season, new place... and I miss New Jersey something fierce. Besides all the friendly people seem to live in New Jersey.. (seriously.. Maine is nice but is sort of a ..... if you didnt grow up here people call you a City person... etc.
Ha. Timmy Ray a CITY person. Thats a laugh. I get lost at Grand Central Every time donchaknow.

So good to see you post! I am not here much, probably less that you are even, and I still live in NJ! I haven't been to a meeting since September, when I went back to work for a "real job" for Horizon BC/BS.... doing claims. I am going bac****ep telling myself every month, but I need to. When you come and visit, please let us know in advance (at least me anyway PLEASE), so I can make sure I am there to see you! YOU were a big inspiration for me too, before my surgery and after my surgery.... you were always giving encouraging words and good company to a scared soul......you made me feel "safer" about getting the surgery somehow... but you did good!
If my vote counts--- I vote that you COME BACK TO NJ..... we are such a good place to live and work, and we miss you like CRAZY! Substitue at Brick and you can help with the wrestling team, we need a good assistant! COME BACK TIMMY RAY!!!

I never knew you worked for BCBS, my older sister Pam worked for Regency BCBS In Oregon for over ten years! Its a small world : )
Fact of the matter, I miss everyone like CRAZY.
You guys are my extended family, and I love you all fiercely, I think of you guys a great deal. Un like some people who never attended a single meedting except for christmas dinner, I used to look forward to every meeting, I STILL maintain we have a really special, unique and awesome group of folks.
Wanna know the truth?
If I KNEW what steps to take to find Housing in New Jersey, or how to find housing I could afford ... I would BE there.

When I LEFT....At first I was a bit intimidated, ... its not not my original home turf.... and didnt wanna rough feathers, step on toes..and I was pretty...... **numb***. I fled to Maine and I have remained here.
But my family in Maine wound up being less than Stellar as far as support... and I really love NJ.... so **survey said**** Return is very possible *** : )).
Did you know I never actually went to the beach ? I saw the boardwalk a couple times, but a day at he beach.... **NeVeR OccUrrEd**. Aint that funky?
I WILL RETURN... at least for a visit. And I am pondering moving to New Jersey... but housing seems so DARN expensive...when I left... and I just was mixed up, confused, a bit numb.. you know the drill??
I am much better now.
I have accepted a lot of things that did not compute before, and I am philosophical about it all.
Life is short, and its time to work forward for good things, with enthusiasm and good cheer and no malice or hard feelings for *anyone* :0) :) : )

BUT GOOD NEWS...
I still am in really good health, still no diabetes, still no high blood pressure, still in excellent health just need to reduce MASS lolol.
I MISS New Jersey. Did you know I sub taught in Asbury Park?
Now.. if a guy can do that and thrive, then they can deal with anything thats my motto : )

If you or anyone in the group knows anyone that has a cottage, or a room, or a situation that you know of like that.. or anything, please let me know? The difference from NOW to back then, is attitude and Vested Interest.
Being tactful, I felt before that I needed **permission** (yeah I know... silly me) but I realize that I am in charge of my own destiny, and I would love to be back in New Jersey.
Well .. I digress.
Hopefully I answered your question about the possibility of coming back, and hopefully you or one of the group might know someone that is seeking a boarder or something.
There are a BUTT load of schools (over ten in Toms River alone) that need Substitutes, and I literaly could work full time, and I also have a commercial license that I could drive bus... so finding work would not be hard.
As for ideal living situation...
I would really love to come down near Toms River, I would like to work out at the club.. substitute teach... maybe wrestling Referree (or assistant coach somewhere) and go on with life.
You know.Michelle.. you were very supportive yourself when things went South, you were always kind and encouraged me to keep my head up and I have tried : ) I thought often of the advice my friends .... You... Michael, AJ, Jack Martin, Nannette, Deidre, and others gave me and I grew a lot after my surgery in the supportive atmopshere there in New Jersey.
So yeah.. I hope to figure a way to Get the heck back to Dodge.

So ... I would come back to New Jersey TODAY if I knew where and how to find a place to live. I still have my Registered Certificate to Sub Teach, and I miss New Jersey tons.
So.. I am flinging good naturedly down the challenge.
Any Ideas about where to discover places to live?
I am naive about it all, I grew up in Oregon,
lived in Iowa for six years, and I loved New Jersey
but dont know what sort of housing is available, when I lived there I lived in one location....
was largely insulated from any sort of housing price shock.
Anyhow
Its GREAT to see you on here again...

I used to by the PowerCrunch bars from Bariatric Eating.. they were sort like a d covered sugar wafer. I have also used detour bars you can buy those in the store but as I recall they come in 2 sizes the small one is the good one.. the bigger one is just too big..
Well life here is the same.. not much has changed for me.. I have a new jobs, some new friends and that is about it..
