where will he be performing his surgery if Muhlenberg closes, does anyone have any dealings w/him now?  He seems like a great guy/doctor..and is super close to home, which is soooo important to me...but I haven't read too many experiences about him..and it worries me where he will perform surgery if in fact MMC closes...

any thoughts..thanks so much for your help..it took me 2 years to get to this point to even want surgery..now I'm so excited!!!!

Hi Beanie: Dr. JB is a gifted surgeon and a nice guy, his offices are very convenient for those of use who live in Union county. He is now performing surgery at JFK Medical Center in Edison. My RNY was November 2006, I was one of the his first year patients at Muhlenberg but he did perform surgery in the Trenton area prior to coming to Solaris....he has had a great track record in the past 2 years he's been at Muhlenberg, he has a comprehensive program with wonderful after care and many many many successful patients, including me! I'm thrilled with the outcome as I know you will be too...we welcome y ou to the Bariatric Center family! congratulations!

Hi Sheri, thanks so much for your response..I must say you look fantastic. I notice you live very close to me. I actually do all my shopping at Trader Joes and Shop Rite over by you. So are Dr. JB's offices still in Plainfield? Is that where you go for your fills or do you have to go to JFK? Thanks so much for your help, its so much appreciated.

Dr JB is also my surgeon.  He's wonderful and warm.  So is his staff.  I was just at his office last week and Katherine told me that they will be in the same office for at least another year.  He is now operating at JFK Hospital.  I have no personal experience with this hospital but it has an excellent reputation.  Good luck with your surgery!

I just wanted to chime in and give my 2 cents.  You couldn't have picked a better surgeon.  And to be honest, the surgeon and the follow up care are what makes or breaks you.
I have no dealings with JFK but love Dr. JB and his office staff.  Of course I had no dealings with Muhlenberg prior to surgery either and everything was wonderful.

HE IS GREAT , I THANK HIM FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE FOR ME . HE IS VERY GOOD AND CARING AND IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN YOU NEED HIM. HE WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTION YOU HAVE AND I FEEL LIKE I MADE THE BEST CHOICE I WOULD AND I HAVE REFERRED HIM TO ANYONE. I WENT TO SEE TWO OTHER DR. AND BACKED OUT BOTH TIMES. I KNEW THAT THEY WERE NOT RIGHT FOR ME. I FELT SO AT EASE WITH HIM.
THIS IS THE BEST CHOICE  I HAVE MADE FOR MY LIFE , AND YOU WILL FEEL THE SAME.

GOOD LUCK

Hi Beanie! I had gastric bypass, not lapband with Dr. J-B....so no fills needed for me. I would be happy to meet you one day (at TJ's if you want or anywhere downtown) and talk to you about your surgery...feel free to come to my support group this Saturday morning at RWJ Wellness Center in Scotch Plains...we are always a nice lively and sharing group we can give you lots of info on surgery and your options...many of Dr. J-B's patients attend. email me back for further info. Dr. JB will continue to see patients in Plainfield but all his surgeries are now performed at JFK. I cannot tell you how it is there but can refer you to others who have had surgery there.

Hi Beanie,
I consider myself blessed to have Dr. Jean-Baptiste as my bariatric surgeon.  He is warm and caring, and his staff is wonderful. They treat each patient as an individual, and whatever time you need with them is honored. Dr. JB is a skilled and thoughtful surgeon. He calmed all my fears prior to surgery and has been a calming force in my life since my surgery. I had lapband surgery and I have had two fills so far. He makes that a simple, painless procedure and is patient through the process. I'm not sure which surgery you're considering, however, if it's lapband, please feel free to join us on the Lapband Forum and we'll be happy to share our experiences. A friend of mine, who I referred to Dr. JB, just had gastric bypass at JFK and had a wonderful experience as well. I look forward to seeing you on the losers bench
