Union County Support Group Has a New Home!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the First Saturday Support Group has a new home for at least the next three months. We will be meeting at the RWJ Fitness and Wellness Center on Lambertsmill Road in Scotch Plains. Thank you to Kathleen Jaeger at Rahway Hospital for arranging this for us, they are excited to have us on board and will be providing publicity so hopefully our little group will be able to grow. Due to the first Saturday of July being the July 4th weekend, we will be meeting on the second Saturday, JULY 12th, from 10:30-12:00. RWJ is a fabulous facility, the gym is amazing and if you'd like a tour, I'd be happy to provide one after the meeting. There is a cafe on the premises and they request that you utilize it for your morning coffee...they make whey protein smoothies (make sure you ask for sugar free) and have yogurt and low cal/low fat foods available. They have requested no outside foods. For August and September we will be following our regular first Saturday meeting schedule. If you have any questions, please email: [email protected]. Hi Sheri, I usually, but in the past few months have been bad go to the TRiver meeting. I may just join you. My Mom who is 79, and lives in Scotch Plains used to go to Mulenbergh for her after care of a heart bypass. I can not tell you how upset she is at the closing of the hospital and her exerecise center there. For the first time in her life she exercised. So maybe if time permits, I will join you and get a peak at this Gym- I pass it every time I go and see my folks Chris Oh I had the lap band 18 months ago and am down 125 pounds

Thanks for your response we are all upset about the closing of Muhlenberg, it serves an important part of the population and is a fabulous hospital...perhaps your mom can continue her cardiac rehab at RWJ...they are affiliated with Rahway Hospital and many senior citizens use this incredible facility. I can probably get you a one day pass for the 12th if you'd like. They are open till 7pm!
