I messed up...
ok.. so i am scheduled for appt 2 of 4 this week..
which would be a good thing right?
but nooo...
i gained weight!
yep it's my fault.. but now that my appointment is coming up..
i am not sure if i should push the appointment back another week to try and shed some
quick water weight..
ugh..
just had to get that off my chest ... and hopefully get some thoughts..
go to the appt anyway or try and reschedule to next week?
What appointment are you referring to? Is it a supervised diet visit? Follow up to surgery? I can only answer to the aupervised diet ...I am in the middle of my 6 month supervised diet and I spoke with my insurance company, actually the nurse that approved the surgeries, prior to starting my diet and
she stated that it is not as important to lose weight just to be able to follow through with the visits etc...
Hope this helps
Stacey
Anyca,
Please don't cancel your appointment, no matter what. It happens. Just face it and move on. There will be times in your journey that the scale is mean that is why they tell you not to weigh in during the early post-op.
Just hop on the drs. scale and say what you did here. But don't cancel, the sooner you get on the loser's bench the better you will feel.

this is for my pre op visits..
the insurance requires a 3 month multidisciplinary program..
i had my consultation last month.. so i have 3 more visits to go..
this week is my 2nd appt.. and yeah i haven't really started following any diet
thanks for responding... i know don't want to cancel my appt..
i guess i am just trying to save face.. well with the dr's office anyway..
I too, gained weight between my first and second appointment. About 6 lbs. I was scared as anything to get on the scale. When I did, the doc did not even say anything, but I did. I started to explain and make excuses. The docs response....did you have fun? lol.
Do not worry, they are not there to judge you. They are just following the path that the insurance company mandates.
By the way, between my second and third visit (last Thursday) I am down 12 lbs.!
Good luck.
Denise

Hi Laura, Did Dr. Mike respond to your question? I know he deals with bariatric patients all the time. He actually did my psych test for pre-op. Although I don't see him yet, after my surgery I plan to attend his group meetings and probably as a private patient as well, since I believe alot of my eating problems are emotional. He seemed very knowledgable, and his office in Wayne. Good luck, Denise
