Basic Medicaid and RNY surgery...
So heres my story... I had Aetna for a couple of years. I was seeing a bariatric doctor and was on a 6 month waiting period. (Aetna red tape) At the 5 month mark I got a letter from my doctor saying they no longer cover Aetna and I was out of luck. Very shortly after that I had to quit my job and I lost Aetna. So I had to put the surgery/dream on hold for a while.
So Now I have basic Medicaid and Ive started the search again. But I need lots of help and I don't seem to be able to get help anywhere else or from anyone lol
I was told by a doctor that it is possible to get it done with basic medicaid but it was going to be hard to find a doctor.
I was also told that I might want to look into some sort of free supplemental insurance that will compliment my medicaid. Sadly I don;t know of any such service or where to even go about inquiring about it.
I guess what im asking is:
Does anyone know of a doctor in northern jersey or anywhere in NJ that will accept basic medicaid?
Has anyone on these forums had the surgery with just basic medicaid?
What supplemental medicaid insurance do you have and do you like it ?
Thank you all for your time and advice. Any comment is welcome.
PS I see the sticky above and I plan on making phone calls tomorrow. I thought I would pose the question and seek advice to speak with some one and ask questions.
