Is there an Overlook Hospital support group?

I am looking for other LapRNYs who had surgery at Overlook and have a support group.  Would very much like to attend, please.  My RNY was 4/30/08. Thanks, Andrea

Hi Andrea. Overlook isn't too far away from Bound Brook.  Every Tuesday night there is a support group at the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church at 7:00pm (Bariatric Angels).  It is very very easy to get to from Route 22 (take the Mountain Avenue overpass into Bound Brook - the church is at the intersection of Route 28).  I have been attending this group since April 2007 and try to not miss a week!!  Its a great group and - tomorrow is Tuesday!  Hope to see you there!!!  Let me know if you have any questions or need any additional info! Hi, I love Dr. Goyal.  As an RN, I did much investigating before choosing the procedure and the surgeon.  (I took a big 7 years of researching and soul searching, did not take this lightly.) He is gentle, straight forward, kind and very, very talented.  He has all the credentials I required of a bariatric surgeon and more.  His office staff is great (Robin and Lucy are dolls).  I am treated like on of the family when there.  Had my 4 week post-op LapRny today!  18 lbs since surgery, he is pleased with my results.  Actually sat and talked for some time to me today, gave me his take first and then I gave him my questions and concerns, each one answered completely, took a look at my incisions, also.  I am VERY happy I chose Dr. Goyal. I'm not telling you he is the best for you, but he is the appropriate bari surgeon for me.  One really must choose where they are comfortable.  But, I honestly believe any patient going to Dr. Goyal will receive premium medical care for their bariatric needs.  Gosh, I sound like an advertisement!  I just really like him.  Overlook Hospital is good.  I worked there a number of years ago and as an RN I understand most of what's going on.  James Houston, a physican's assistant (almost an MD, highly skilled and trained nurse) is the manager of Bariatric Surgery at Overlook.  If you go there for the surgery, you'll talk to him on the phone and then eventually meet him. I run a peer to peer support group on the first Saturday of each month in Union County. We have been meeting at Muhlenberg Hospital but if it closes we will have to find another place.
