Revision surgery

I'm looking for a dr. in Jersey that do revisions, you see 10 years ago I has an open Gastric Bypass, I lost all the weight and more, then around 2002 I started gaining the weight back and now I'm 200 pounds my worst nightmare and no one to understands what I'm going through.  So I'm just wandering if anyone out there has had another surgery to fix the problem and I'm also getting some of my medical problems back again.  I want to be healthy again and thin. Please if there is anyone out there that can give e advice and be a friend to me please post. Thanks. Abbey

Hi Abbey, I suggest you contact your Insurance company.  They should be able to give you a list of surgeons that take your Insurance, than you can choose who you like best, and who has experience with revisions.  You might want to see if any of the surgeons that they give you, if they add an extra band around your stomach.  My surgeon adds an extra band (not Lapband) which is permanent around your stomach, which will only allow your stomach to stretch a little, he has had a great success rate with it,  you won't be able to stretch your stomach back to the way it used to be.  By the way, what Insurance do you have?  I have spoken to people from my surgeon's office and some of them who have had that added Band after 5 or 6 years they say that they still can't eat like they used too, and they have kept the weight off.  Moderation is the key.  I know Dr. Capella in Hackensack also adds the extra band.  Just a suggestion, hope this was helpful.  Let us know if you need anymore help.  Good-Luck!!!!

Hi Melissa, My insurance is Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield ppo.  My problem is not eating in moderation, because I don't eat much to begin with. which doesn't make sence.  By the way I see we live not to far from each other, what doctor do you use and does he do revisions?  By the way how do I ask about this band you're speakin of, I've heard of the lap band, but not a band. The first time I had surgery which was the gastric bypass I lost all the weight and made it to 110 pounds in 6 months, does this band make you lose weight fast?  Just curiouse.   Hope to hear from you soon. Hi Abbey, My surgeon is Dr. Ducheine in East Orange, NJ His Phone Number is 973-674-4042.  You can ask if he does Revisions, and whether or not he takes your Insurance, you can also ask about the extra Band.  Let me know what happens.

Hi Belinda, The band that am talking about is a band that is put around your stomach after Gastric Bypass Surgery.  It is totally different from LapBand Surgery.  The band is permanent so I don't think it is done without having Gastric Bypass Surgery.  The band is an added support so you won't be able to stretch out your stomach to the way it use to be.  Hope I answered your question.  Good-Luck!!!

Hi Abbey. I believe Dr Ward does a revision surgery.  One of the women in my support group had it done a few months back and has had wonderful success.   Good luck to you! Cindy
