Had RNY three weeks+ ago. When do you start on soft mushy foods?

I would imagine every surgeon has a protocol.  Your surgeon's office must provide it to you.  I was 2 weeks post-op from LapRNY on a liquid diet and now have started 2 weeks of soft diet.  Trial and error, some things work, others simple cause discomfort.  Boiled carrots?  No way.  Tuna works, chew very well.  Good luck.

I think every doctor has their own way of thinking.  Mine was ok with me starting soft (pureed) food a week after surgery.  After my 10 day appointment I was ok'd for regular food on a trial basis (Try it and if it works ok - if not wait & try again later). Things went well for me. Good Luck with your journey!

Its true, every surgeon is different. Mine sent me home from the hospital eating soft foods. I think the longer you're on liquids, though, the more you lose.
