Pre Op Anxiety

Today was my pre-admission testing. I had open RNY in 1999 lost about 120 pounds and then in the past seven years re-gained weight. So, I'm having revised open RNY. When I left my house this morning to drive the 1.5 hours to the surgeon/hospital for testing I felt happy, confident and really proud that after so many years of frustration and fighting the insurance company, in three short weeks I will have a new/second chance at a healthy life. However the drive home was very different. I found myself questioning if I'm doing the right thing; feeling nervous about the risks of the surgery; worried that I'll end up with complications, etc... Also, during the testing they ran an EKG strip and now the hospital wants me to get medical clearance from my primary care doc that I can have the surgery. The nurse said the EKG wasn't alarming but they don't know what is "normal" for me. Has anyone had this experience? How have others coped with "second thoughts?" Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
