Hairloss
Hi Lilly,
If you go to www.bizrate.com they have all sorts of organic vitamin supplements for hair loss. When you go to the site in the search engine put in protein, and hair loss. You will then find what you are looking for. Also your protein intake is very essential, do you eat a lot of protein? If you don't eat enough protein you will suffer from severe hair loss. Good-Luck, I hope this was helpful.
Lilly,
I was told by some people that biotin helps. My surgeon did not necessarily believe that, but said there was no harm in taking it. I started taking it at 3 weeks out - long before hair loss started - and stopped at 4 mos out because I was losing hair just as quickly and it made absolutely no difference - and I didn't want the extra pills to take.
I am 6 1/2 mos out - and it is still falling out although slowing down. They say from 3-7 mos is the worst - and that is what I am finding. A friend of mine who is 8 months out just started having new hair growth - so I am hoping the same.
Also, protein intake is essential. You must meet your requirements. I do that daily, but like I said....I can only imagine what it would be like if I didn't.....
Good luck!
Pam

My understanding is that the hair actually dies the day of the surgery or any such trauma. It falls out at about 3 months for some reason. Some people have more loss than others.
My Nutritionist suggested 1 Biotin daily a few months post-op. The dosage was later increased when I lost additional hair many months later. I have had minimal / normal hair loss ever since.
Wal-mart sells Biotin and other supplements at very reasonable prices.
