We've arranged a late check-out at 1PM for our attendees who are hotel guests.
Take advantage of photo opportunities.
There are also plenty of local attractions. Groups will be banding together to end their Pilgrimage weekend on a high note. That's how we do it. That's how we've done it in the past. We thank you Lancaster!
Other developing activities incorporated throughout the weekend are:
Avatar Help - hands on assistance with loading and setting preferences for your use on the Obesity Help website. We'll provide avatar, profile, ticker, blog, message board, or chat room help.
Before and After WLS Photos - snail mail your before and after photos for submission on our board display. Mark them clearly when you send them to Shauna Dhoble at 716 Bob Bea Lane, Harleysville, PA 19438. Please submit by May 16. Participants will attempt to place the before with the after photo and be rewarded with a prize.
Clothing Exchange - a table in the conference room with clearly labeled sizes of garments to be exchanged. Any leftover items will be taken to a local clothing donation receptacle.
Contact Board - add your name and contact info of your choice such as, mailing address, email address (preferred), phone #'s, Obesity Help username, Barix Message Board username, etc. to our well established list of support friends. We'll collect the info and everyone on the list will receive a copy of the finished document. It's a most useful tool for keeping in touch to give and/or receive support.
Past Pilgrimage Photos - Prior attendees sending in past Pilgrimage photos to be part of a video/power point presentation on display in the conference room. Photos should be emailed to [email protected] for submission by May 16.
Photo Opportunities will be available throughout the weekend and a Group Photo sometime on Saturday.
Raffle Auction - a raffle of several special baskets loaded with items you'll love to have along the lines of health, protein richness, useful kitchen items, getting fit and perfect for the spa.
Scavenger Hunt/PA Pilgrimage Trivia - another Shauna Dhoble brain storm where she developed a list of questions to be answered correctly and award the attendee with the most correct answers. The questions will range from subjects about the hotel to questions about some of the attendees themselves. The idea being to interact with the group, talk with one another, mingle research and be a little nosy. It's okay.
Special Awards - We're developing awards to recognize and celebrate our time together. Last year we started the Jet-Setter Award won by Lisa Goldstein for traveling the farthest for the most support. We want to continue with that award and add others. We're working with the Spring Award, Blossom Award, Educator Award, Back on Track Award, etc.
Suggestion/Comments Board or Box - What brought you to the Pilgrimage this year? How are we doing? Are the activities helpful? Are you learning and having fun? How's the hotel? Are the accommodations and amenities to your liking or not? Do the local restaurants have enough choice? What would you like to see at the next PA Pilgrimage? Tell us what you think. This is your event and it's important to us that it works for you.
Total Weight Loss Board - this has become traditional since out first Pilgrimage in June of 2006. We tabulate the total weight lost amongst all attendees. This includes everyone, WLS patients, spouses, support friends, anyone passing through. If you've lost weight we want to recognize and celebrate that. You can choose to submit your name but it's not necessary, the number of pounds lost is what we're looking for. We'll have a running total throughout the weekend with a grand total on Sunday.

The PA Pilgrimage is brought to you by Lookin TaShrink, Inc.
We are a non-profit company.
Disclaimers:
Participation in all events is voluntary.
Participation in group exercise is at your own risk.
Your time is your own to use as you wish.
We are volunteers and not professionals.
We all take personal responsibility for privacy and loyalty to the group in attendance.
All subject matter should be handled with great sensitivity.
Since the beginning the PA Pilgrimage has always been "free", so to speak, many of us have absorbed costs in an effort to make the event special, and it has been, however as we grow so do the costs. Our biggest group cost is the rental of a conference/meeting room and we believe that cost is well worth it. There are other costs as well: sign material, brochures, copies, name tags, packaging welcome packets, materials for group projects, provisions (bottled water, and healthy snacks throughout the weekend). Our intent is not to charge but we find ourselves having to do so to defray those costs. We sincerely hope you all understand. We are non-profit and any excess will be used for future events.
