Hi Everyone!  I know there is a bunch of interest out there for a support group in Somerset County.  The group I've been with for the last thirteen months, Bariatric Angels LLC, is at the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church on the corner of Route 28 and Mountain Avenue.  We are an awesome group for both Lap Banders and RYN'ers alike.  There's even a revision there!  They've been my lifesaver!!!   The meetings start at 7:00pm.  Hope to see some of you there!!  If you need more info - just ask! Hi. There is a 12 step-ish approach.  Everyone takes from it what they need.  Some take the 12 step approach more seriously than others.  We discuss a lot about the addiction part of food issues and how to deal with day to day life whether it is food related or relationship related.  We talk about everything there!  It's amazing what might come up at a meeting that I end up finding pertains directly to me.  I leave every week feeling better than I did before I got there.  I look forward to going!!  I even try to go Saturday mornings down in Keyport.  There are other programs available too.  I took part in a retreat weekend that helped me immensly!!  Two and a half wonderful days of really finding out what makes me tick.  It was awesome.  I could've used a third day at the Angels Cove Retreat.   Give us a try.  We're a terrific group of people!!!   If you do decide to go - let me know.  I'll greet you at the door!!!!  (yeah - I'm a goofball - but after so much struggle - to find something that actually helps me - I'll scream it from the rooftops!!!) Have a good one! Cindy

Cindy : ) I also attend the BA meetings in Bound Brook - and I wouldn't have gotten so far without the group!  A really amazing and generous group of people. Angels Cove Retreat was great for some much needed "me" time!  It really helped me understand my triggers and was a total lifesaver!  I also wanted to stay longer.  The atmosphere there was relaxing and cozy - really made me honest with myself. If ANYONE has a chance to attend a meeting or spend a few days at The Cove, I highly recommend it.  It helped me in ways that no Dr, nurse or nutritionist could.  Only a fellow bariatric patient can have the understanding to develop a program like this!
