Protien and other issues

Jen, the profect things are a good source of protein - however - I hate the taste of all of them.  Good news is they are only 3 ounces, so you can do it in a sip or two and be done with it. I buy stop and shop NONfat ricotta cheese.  1/4 cup = 10gm protein.  I mix this with splenda and cinnamon for a rice pudding flavor or spaghetti sauce, garlic powder, and mozz, heat in the microwave for a noodless lasagna type. Greek yogurt (fage) has 13gm per 6 ounces, 0% fat (they have various fat content versions)  Plain it tastes like sour cream - but sweeten with splenda and some frozen (or fresh) berries and it's yummy.  You can also flavor with some sf jello crystals (not many), or a few pumps of sf davinci syrups (can be bought online in about 100 different flavors, do a search) Polly-O 2% cheesesticks 1 has 8gm protein.  I'm 5 1/2 mos out and can easily get down two, so it's 16gm I also take lean deli ham, wrap it around a cheesestick with some lf cream cheese or lf mayo and it is like a breadless sandwich. As far as the chicken - dump?  Dumping generally deals with to much fat or sugar causing a metabolic reaction of to much insulin being released into your system.  You might not be able to tolerate the poultry - which is common early out - but it's not a real dumping issue generally speaking.  Make sure it is really really moist - add ff gravy.  I buy the tyson precooked chicken pieces (like sizes to put into salads) because they are moist and I put some ff gravy on it.  I wouldn't try this right now as it seems you're having issues with it - but you could revisit the poultry area in a few months. I'll go through my other stuff and figure out what else I eat which is high in protein.  Oh, try shrimp if you like it - it always went down easily for me and is packed with protein. Pam

hi jennifer it is always best to get your protein from food and not from a suppliment -- but you are still early on :)  eggs tuna cheese fish hamburg peanut butter do a google search for high protein foods -- you will find alot :)  i don't mind eating infront of other ppl -- i eat slow and enjoy my meals now -- no need to rush -- sit back and go real slow and watch them do the dishes while you are still enjoying your meal :) roberta
