1. Why did you chose RNY? - Because I needed the malabsorbtion and restriction that RNY offered. It was the best choice for me.
2. Was the surgery and recovery painful? Not any more than I expected it to be.
3. When were you able to resume work? I was out for 3 weeks.
4. How many days did you spend in the hospital? 2
5. Any foods you can not tolerate now? Anything more than 2 fork fulls of rice and I'm sick. I haven't tested the water with sugar and I don't plan to any time soon.
6. What type of suppliments/vitamins will you be on for life? Muli, Calcium, Iron, B12
7. How much of your intestine did your surgeon bypass? 100 cm
8. Hair Loss? A little at about 3 months. It stopped at about 6 months and I've been fine since.
9. Loose Skin? Not enough to bother me yet.
10. Any other complications you have experienced? Nope
11. Thing you miss the most that you had prior to surgery? Nothing. I feel so much better, that NOTHING is better than this.
12. Any regrets? Only that I didn't do it sooner. If I could have done this in my early 20's or sooner, it would have changed my life.
13. What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner? This is too long to answer.
14. Outsiders reaction to your surgery an dresults? Wonderful
15. Would you tell someone to have the surgery if they asked you? (Have a co-worker that has had it but tells me NOT to have it because there are not long term studies done on the effect sof the surgery on the body.
I would not tell anyone to have/not have the surgery. It's a very personal decision. I can only give facts and talk about my own experiences.
