Ok, I am starting to put weight on, even though I believe it's water weight, but still, weight is weight. I am up 10 pds now and getting really discouraged! I'm not eating alot but the foods I am eating are a little saltier! I'm trying to watch that now but the weight isn't coming off. I don't know what else to do. I feel as if I am failing with this and can't understand how! Any suggestions or thoughts?

hi maybe u are just in a stall of some kind.  this early out though, you should not be gaining weight. perhaps you need to talk to your doctor or nutritionist.  are you following the diet they gave you?? dont give up, this surgery works, but every body reacts differently. good luck, jacki

First off....are you male or female?  Hormones can cause excess water weight. Make sure you are getting in your fluids - preferably water if you are retaining water weight from salt issues. What are your nutritional guidelines?  Are you following them?  What does a typical menu consist of? I agree - it is probably a stall of some sort - but certainly call your nutritionist and/or surgeon and go over in detail what you are doing, what you are supposed to be doing etc. Also - how's your exercise?  Get moving! Best of luck, let us know how you progress. Pam

Thanks all. I am a female so I do think that is part of it. I cut back on some of the salt and I see a few pounds came off. I am following my diet which is low carb, low sugar, high protein. Not really eating any carbs, mostly protein but salty protein. Example, teryaki salmon, deli ham slices,  beef jerky or I drink boullion in water. Also I have been exercising even though I still can't do much do to my size. But I have been walking and either weight training or cycling. I think I will call my nutrionist though. Maybe I shouldn't be eating some of the things I think is ok. Thanks for your help all. Any other advise is welcome as well.
