I have had the band for over two years now and last week i went to the doctor. I wanted a little looser because things were getting stuck for a while now. I think i heard him say he took .02 out and to come back in 6 weeks. Now i feel im eating alot more and it goes down way to easy. How do you know when it is just right???????

From what's been told to me, once you’re able to eat without food “getting stuck” all the while getting that “full” sensation - that’s when you know the band is “just right”.

You are probably eating more. Remember, since the band constricted your stomach opening, you were eating less. Now that the opening is a little bigger, you will eat more. That’s one of the problems with loosing the band - people tend to eat more because you need more food to feel full.

Next time you see your doctor tell him what happened. Ask him if it’s ok to inject .005 or .01 of fluid back into the band - and see how that feels.

FYI: I’ve heard stories of doctors who loosen the band when patients ask to have the band removed because they feel “they don’t need it anymore”. This is a good indicator to both doctor and patient if they person can live without the band. If the patient doesn’t gain weight over 6 months, then the doctors will remove the band. However, studies show 99% of the folks DO gain weight, and realize they still need the band.
