I don't think so.   Before surgery we had something called a sphincter which allowed food to be "regulated" out of our stomachs - it could open and close as needed.  With the surgery, that outlet sphincter is not part of our new pouches.   Therefore, foods and fluids just kinda pass through as the opening allows. Fluids are generally thinner, so they kind of slide right through.  It's also why we can't drink with our meals - because it will start to push our food through faster, causing us to feel hungrier further out, and making it "slide" down the intestines, decreasing absorption even more. Solid foods (especially meats, proteins etc) are dense, even when chewed exceptionally well.  Therefore, they sit in the pouch a little longer than fluids, as it tries to make its way out through the opening into the intestines. Some people use "water loading" before eating.  What this is, is drinking as much water (or other fluid) as possible as quickly as possible.  The basic idea is to "fill yourself up" on fluids before eating, therefore you feel fuller a little bit longer.  Because even though it's thinner and works its way out quicker, the more in the pouch, the longer it takes regardless.  I do not get full from fluids - but once or twice I have drank a whole lot really quickly - and I did feel uncomfortable for a time.  It was like a pressure. FLUIDS PASS THRU THE POUCH MUCH MORE QUICKLY THAN SOLID FOOD. I THINK YOU ARE FINE. BUT IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD CALL YOUR DOCTOR. HUGS, JACKI
