Lap Band over RNY

Hi everyone.  I am cosidering a revision to my RNY, My surgeon recommends that I get the band over my RNY.  I was wondering if anyone has had this and if they have how they are doing? I would greatly appreciate some feedback so I can make the right decision.  Thanks

Hi  First I will tell you that I had RYN, so I wouldn't be able to help you with the lap band.  I have some friends who have had the lap band, and are doing well.  My surgeon said it depends on how much weight you want to lose, if you have to lose a lot of weight , he suggests a revision.  If you only have to lose 50lbs or less the band would be a good choice.  With the band the weight loss is not as quick, and you have to learn to maintain your weight sooner than with RYN.  If you are looking for a revision then something tells me you were unable to maintain your weight after the first surgery unless you don't have that much weight to lose, and your surgeon is correct by telling you the band would be good for you.  I pray that you make the right decision.
