ok i dont know what your doc would say, but in the beginning i felt like that all the time. i would suck on an altoid mint or you can use a sugar free mint, just for a few minutes, and then spit the mint out.  it helped. good luck, jacki p.s. maybe sipping decaf tea would help also, i used lots of that in the first months.

I was nauscious for awhile after surgery.  First it was most of the time, then it ws anytime I ate ANYTHING regardless of how slow I ate or what it was or what the consistency was.

The nurses at my hospital said decaf peppermint tea worked well - and it did.  I guess it's the same thing as the mints listed above.

Certainly mention it to your doc - I think it probably normal, but you never know.  Also, if you begin to bring stuff up, even water, you may have a stricture which is a narrowing of the stoma outlet from your new pouch.

Best of luck, hang in there, it does pass.

I've tried, tea and decaf-sugar free iced tea, also, sugar-free mint gum. i have to tell you all that it has helped alot, but know, im spitting alot.

And im still getting nauseous with water, im so scared of getting dehidrated.

I hope that this will pass. This is very irritating.

I'm glad you finally are feeling better.  I couldn't do anything cold in the first few weeks after surgery - it made my stomach hurt!  I only did decaf hot teas and hot soups.  I probably didn't really go back to cold stuff for a month or so after surgery - and I had my procedure in August!!

I personally have to take everything cold. since the very beginning. Icy water all the time. Now, i'm drinking water w/lemon and splenda. I don't really know if it's ok to drink this all the time but that is the only way to get my liquids down.  Im not a tea or coffee fan, soda or flavored water, so im limited to this.

if anyone has any other suggestion please let me know . thank you all for you comments.
