Muhlenbery Hospital set to close in about 6 months
Good morning all,
Let me address your concerns about the closure of Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center. The hospital will file a Certificate of Need to begin closure proceedings. The actual closure and "winding down" of services here will take about 6 months. Dr. Jean-Baptiste will continue to perform surgery out of Muhlenberg until the time that he is instructed to begin performing surgery out of John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison. There will be no interruption in services. The Bariatric Center offices will remain at their present location until further notice. Please be assured that Dr. Jean-Baptiste and the staff at the Bariatric Center remain committed to every patient's care and well-being. There is absolutely no need to worry that you will be without a surgeon or staff.
Should any patient of Dr. Jean-Baptiste have questions or concerns they are encouraged to call the center and speak with myself, Christina, Judi or Dr. Jean-Baptiste.

Thanks for clearing that up Kathy.
It will stink, because I live right down the road, and I mean like 2 minutes. It will be more difficult to get quick treatment for most of the area, but the charity care has been killing that hospital, no one pays them. I can see why they are closing..
