A friend posted this on the pa board...I tried it and it worked...and then followed the directions for removal.
Forward this to everyone you know... Google has a new feature - you type in your phone number in the search bar, and it pulls up your name and address (if your number is published). If you then hit MapQuest, you will get a map to the person's house. Its a nationwide reverse phonebook. This can be a scary situation for many reasons. In oder to test if your number is mapped, go to google (http://www.google.com/) Type your number in the search bar (i.e.555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private info, simply click on your telephone number and then click on the Removal Form. Removal takes 48 hours. This may not apply to you if you have an unlisted number or cell phone as primary contact, but you may know someone who needs to know this.

Eilleen,
Absolutely. I just don't like the street shot thing. Not that it matters - because even if you're listed in the phone book, you could get the address and then map quest it - I know it doesn't make all to much sense to block it - but something about it makes me uneasy.
