Who's your PCP

Hey all! I am hopefully having my surgery at the end of this month and was wondering if anyone has a good PCP that is knowledgeable of WSL. My current PCP gave me the ok to have RNY but also told me that she is not familiar with this surgery and I am scared that afterwards she will not be able to treat me going forward. I live in Edison so any where around this area and as long as they are good and knowledgeable of WLS would be fine. Thanks!

Hi Chrissy, I don't know anyone in Edison, but my PCP in East Brunswick has a few WLS patients, both RNY and band, and is supportive of the surgery.  He's also a really nice guy and very proactive with tests and follow-up. Dr. Scott Yager 732-432-7040

Dr Yager is also my doc and has been for years. He is a great guy and wonderful doctor. As the previous poster stated he is very proactive for his patient's needs.

Thank you also, it means so much when you use a doctor from word of mouth. Have a great day!

I am in Edison also. I love my PCP in Gill Lane Woodbridge, NJ. Close to MetroPark .  Since my surgery, I have had GBP follow up with my surgeon and also with a gastroenterologist. I don't really feel it necessary for the primary to be total experts on GPB..... If you like your current Dr. and they will give you referrals when needed- why change? good luck with your choice of PCP  but if your PCP can read your blood levels with your vitamins then i don't see a reason to change -- do you still have a gallbladder?? they would have to watch for signs of gallstones -- other than that you should be fine with your current PCP  good luck roberta
