Hi Miriam I use Centrum Chewables - they are orange flavor.  Not what I would call tasty but they are easy to chew and are working!  I usually take a very small amount of water when I chew them and it's not bad at all! Vicki

I took the Optisource Bariatric chewable vitamins for the first 7 months or so post-op.  They cost me $28 a month and I purchased them off the shelf at Walgreens. I stopped those, though, and I now take regular Centrum - I just split them in half before I take them.  I also take one in the morning and one at night.  I've had bloodwork once since I made the change... within about a month... and it was fine.  I go again in March, so we shall see how I'm doing then. Good luck, and congratulations! Wendy

I'm using Building Blocks chewable Multi, Iron and Calcium. I just had my 6 month blood work done and everything came back perfect.

Miriam, I also am taking the centrum "orange flavored" chewables.  I agree - not the tastiest thing in the world, but tolerable.  Someone was concerned that sucrose was the first ingredient (sugar) but if you read the label, it has less than 1gm of carbs in the tablet, which means it's less than 1gm of sugar in the tablet.  My surgeon said it was ok to have sugar as long as it was under 2gm per serving.   I was cleared to swallow regular centrums awhile ago - but had stocked up on the chewables and am just using them up. You can split vitamin tables in half and take them that way.  I have to take one centrum chewable twice a day (not to be confused with taking two vitamins once a day)  It has to do with absorption. Hope this helps. Pam

Hi Miriam: I have been taking Natures Plus, Chewable Heart Shaped Love Bits.  They are a children's vitamin, so I take 2 each morning.  They have a pleasant, faint pineapple taste - not at all "vitaminey".  I pop two in my mouth each morning, suck on them a bit (they are sort of large - like the size of a hard candy) and chew them up.  My labs have been so good, that my NUT is recommending this brand to all her patients. I get them at Vitamine Shoppe - they are in the children's section. Good luck!!

I use the Centrum chewables, but please know that these do NOT have everything you need in them, and you will need to supplement them.  There is no where near the amount of calcium you should have, and there is no potassium in them at all.  They fall short in a few other areas, but if your options are taking these or nothing, these are fine.

Vitamin World in Woodbridge Mall (I'm sure there are others) have a store-brand chewable adult vitamin in pineapple flavor.  They're very tolerable.  Also, I have taken the Centrum Silvers (even though I'm not a senior!!), they're a chewable fruit flavor. My surgeon looked at them and recommended one in the morning and one in the eveing.  The Centrum orange ones were too vitaminy for my taste!  If you're needing a chewable iron, Vitamin Shop sells Nature's Plus brand chewable cherry iron. I love it!  No metallic taste.
