Be careful of the protein shakes you use after surgery

I have to tell you that most protein shakes on the market at not nutritionally sound and taste awful.  Be careful of the ingredients.  Many are full of fillers and artificail sweeteners.  Reading the label is not always enough.  Make sure you know what you are reading.  As a post surgical patient it is very important that what you put into your body is quality.  But it has to taste good or it will collect dust in the kitchen.  And that is simply a waste of time and money.  It also dissapoints us.  lets face it, if you crave chocolare and the shake has an after taste, it is very dissapointing.

I have read several people's post where they recommend Unjury.  I can't find it in the stores.  Where do you get it?  Does it come in flavors?  Thanks for the info.   Mary C

Hi Mary,  If you want to buy Unjury , You can only get it online at www.UNJURY.com. They have Chocolate (which is my favorite), vanilla, Strawberry Sorbet, Chicken soup flavor and Unflavored. If you want to try them first you can buy samples for $1.75, and you will never pay more than $6.00 for shipping on any amount of containers. Trust me, when you drink unjury is like having dessert. I love Whey Delicious.  The nutritionist I used to go to swears it is in the top 98% as far as ingredients and I love the taste.  And, he does not sell it (lol) so I figured that was a real endorsement from him.    I buy it at www.proteinishealthycom but I think you can get it at wheydelicious.com

I started out using Unjury after my surgery (I bought it thru my NUT at the bariatric center). At first it was okay, but then it started making me completely nauseous. After a few other trial and errors, I recently found Whey Gourmet at netrition.com. I use the Smooth Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor and it is awesome. I actually enjoy drinking my shakes instead of just choking them down.

i use the GNC brand of 50 Gram Slam vanilla shakes or i use the WalMart EAS vanilla shakes -- i can't use the powder stuff since the smallest amount of 2% milk has me running for the reading room -- so it's ready to drink stuff for me -- basically i read the sugars, proteins, and calories -- most times i do not want to know the ingredients or else i won't like something -- i'm just funny that way  take care roberta
