Does anyone know where I can get patient feedback on plastic surgeons in NJ or NY, particularly for rhinoplasty?  Aside from word of mouth, how do you find a good nose guy?  Can you trust if New York Magazine or NJ monthly magazine names them on their list of top docs for the year?  (My DH thinks they pay to be on the list). TIA for any help you can give me, Leah

Leah, my son has had lots of facial plastic surgery due to being born with cleft lip.  He has done a wonderful job on my son who has had several facial surgeries with him including 2 rhinoplasties.  As he grows his nose must be revised and he's had 2.  His name is Dr. David Lange and he is in Florham Park, Morris County.  His group is called The Peer Group and they are on Columbia turnpike.  I believe they have a website if you search their name on the internet.  Good luck with your decision.

Leah, I had my LBL by a plastic surgeon in Livingston who is a rhinoplasty guru. He is wonderful as is his whole staff. The level of care is unrvialed and he is a perfectionist. I would highly recommend him. His name is Joe Fodero.  www.drfodero.com 973-992-3818. Feel free to contact me at 908-305-0202 if you would like more info.

I have been told, by a Dr., that some of them nominate on purpose so that Dr. that is on the list gets a bunch of phone calls thus interrupting his practice. Don't know if it is true.

I would go by word of mouth.  I would not trust the magazines, because it is a marketing ploy and pushes the doctors to place expensive advertisements.   It's self promotion.

Hi my name is Nancy I live in toms river and had a nose job by Dr Sattenspiel in Freehold 15 years ago, he has his own surgical building. He is awsome the day after my surgery i drove back to the office to remove the packing and then went to the mall. I did not have to take any painmeds. he was such a great surgeon i made him take out my tonsils 2 years later. My boss is a doctor and he recommended Dr Sattenspiel and i have not regreted it one day. nancy
