Introducing myself

Hi! I was a lurker on this board back in the Spring while investigating different options, but it wasn't til the summer that I joined. After a thorough review, I decided on the Gastric Sleeve, and I have been very active on the VSG board. I was supposed to have my surgery YESTERDAY, but had to postpone because of an insurance issue. I had to "restart" my 6 month consecutive diet with my doctor because I missed August (due to the doctor rescheduling and not having anything til Sept). I was going to submit and hope they didn't notice, but it's their job to find reasons to deny. I figure I didn't want to risk it, and will just wait and "play by their rules." So I'm restarting from Sept on, and hope to submit in Feb, with surgery closely thereafter. Since there are a few Sleevers here on the Jersey board, I thought I'd say hi and try to visit here when I can. Also, I'll probably need a local support group, even though the VSG Board is beyond amazing. My surgeon is one of the pioneers of the Sleeve and DS, but is in NYC. I just don't think it's feasable to go into the city for support meetings, so I'll probably join one of the groups here-- as long as it's not specific only to a particular surgeon. I hope everyone had/has a blessed holiday and healthy New Year!! Kahlua

Hellol hello!  Welcome to the Jersey board.  Congrats on your decision - sorry you had to postpone but everything happens for a reason, oddly enough.  Glad you are getting done what you need. Keep us updated when you can! Pam

Welcome aboard! The people on this N.J. board are great!! Any question I have ever asked...I've always gotten an answer and learned that no question is "dumb". So just ask away and someone will have an answer. Good luck with the process and just be patient, everything will fall into place. Have a Merry Christmas!                                                              Judy
