First off - good for you for doing that.  Secondly, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, don't get to used to things pre op and expect to like them post op - tastes change and thing I could handle before surgery I couldn't afterwards.   That being said, here are some that I like: "Nectar Cappuchino Flavor"  With milk, it really doesn't taste half bad.  Not exactly a cappuchino milkshake, but decent. www.allthewhey.com  If you look on the left hand side, you will see "Bariatric"  They have a sample kit for like $9 I really liked the mint chocolate chip, the chocolate, and the orange cream was awesome!  The sample pack was great so you didn't have to spend a lot of $$ or buy a big container of it only to find out you didn't like it. I also buy skim plus milk and add a packet of carnation instant breakfast, no sugar added to it.  With the skim plus milk and the protein in the carnation instant breakfast, it is 16gm of protein in one cup - not to bad! Best of luck! Pam

Your taste will change after surgery, so don't stock up.  I personally use Unjury.  I absolutely love it and I am 18 months post op.   You can buy samples on their website.  You can also go on vitalady.com and see her samples.  This way you try a number of proteins until you find the one you like. I do the coffee drink thing with my morning shake.  As I said I love the protein shakes. Good luck on your surgery. Jeanne

i drink the GNC 50 gram slams - vanilla or get the AdvantEdge from walmart in the vanilla -- my husband doesn't drink shakes - he gets all his protein from food  don't spend alot of money -- go on the msg boards and see if anyone will send you their samples that they never opened -- go to GNC and ask them for sample**** all the GNC stores in the area -- go to vitamin shops and ask for samples there too -- get ahold of you nutritionist and ask them if they have samples -- just don't waste alot of money roberta

I just had my surgery on 12/11 and OMG I can't stand the protein powder mixed in broth.  It's HORRIBLE.  Nothing I do gets rid of the lumps.  I guess I will depend on Isopure to get my thru the protein phase until I can eat real foods again,

I was thinking that but my NUT said that I should treat it like cornstarch.  Well hello, it doesn't work.  I can't wait to add more food to my diet and then I can get the amount of protein that they require.  Until then its the crazy protein drinks. One thing that's really cool is my increased sense of smell.  I can smell EVERTHING. LOL

I use the unjury as well.  They have a really good vanilla a good chocolate and I like the Chicken broth on for when I am not in a milk mood.  They have sample packets that you can try before you order a whole container or it.  I ordered the samples 1st to try it and felt much better about trying it since I knew it wasn't a waste of $$ if I didn't like it.  Good luck!

thank you all for your responds. i think i will wait til' after the surgery to try them. I tried a wegman's brand (french vanilla) it was great, i put a little splenda because it was not sweat at all.  Can you put splenda or equal to the shakes after surgery?(it definitely seems like a great idea) Thank you once again, God Bless You, Miriam
