D, Lincoln Park is near Wayne and Boonton.. I don't know where your traveling from.  Your weight loss is fantastic....  I have hit a plateau I haven't lost in about 3 months... but I am still going to meetings and working hard. Like many in my group I hope one day the Fat Fairy will be back for a withdrawal from me! Best of Luck J

Is Dr. Mike's meeting open to everyone? Is there a fee?

All are welcome. We did not all use Dr. Mike for our initial, or the same surgeon. We have Lap Bands and Bypass, we have newbies and people who are two years out.  Regarding a fee I know that Dr. Mike bills my insurance company.  You can call his office and get all of the particulars.  They are most helpful.  Some of us go to a Monthly Support Group at Chilton Memorial too.. Give em a buzz. Tell them Jennifer sent you. LOL

Do you have to register to attend these meetings?  I can't make every Monday, but every other might be doable.  I work in Parsippany, so I would just have to "hang out" somewhere for 2 hours, though  LOL Wendy

Hi Doris, I live in central NJ and I go to Centrastate Health Awareness Support Group. It's usually on the 3rd Sat of the month but this month it is this Sat Nov 10th at 10:30-11:30am. This is mostly lap band but they do have a by-pass group not sure when. You can call the Awareness Center. Hope this might help you. The Town is Freehold. Take Care, Coeltte

Hi Coeltte, Thanks for the heads up on the support group, but I googled it and Freehold is about 50 - 60 miles from my house, I think thats a little too far, but Thank You so much for thinking of me! Doris :o)

Hi Doris, Looks like you have several choices for support groups in Northern NJ In association with your surgeon there is a group in the Morristown area.  There is a group at Hackensack Medical Center in association with the Bariatric surgeons there, and there is a group run by Dr. Kamelgard, a surgeon in Paramus.  There is also a group out of Chilton Hospital associated with Dr. Gritsus. To my knowledge these are all once a month groups. As you also know from this thread, I run a weekly group that you could attend.  I do not mean to be self serving here, but if you feel that more consistency is what you want, you might consider it.  As Jen mentioned, my group is not surgeon or procedure specific. All of us who have responded to you wish you luck with your choice. Dr. Mike
