OT - Bon Jovi Concert

So, I went to the Bon Jovi Concert last night and it was awesome.  I was very disappointed in the Prudential Center AKA The Rock in Newark, NJ.  The center was very nice and everything was great until you go to sit down.  For a brand new staduim which is home to the NJ Devils they had very small seats.  They really made the sits small.  My friend who is a size 6 was tight in the sits.  I was really upset because even thought I have lost 39 lbs last night I felt like I lost nothing.  It was very upset.  I just can't believe that they spent millions of dollars on a place that most Americans can't even enjoy because of the seats.  Then most of the food stands just had junk food and it was very expensive.  I ate before going to the concert but brought a protein bar because I know it was going to be a very late night.  But that was taking away at the door.  I explained my reasoning for bring the bar with me and the guard just said no food allowed.  He said there is plenty of food but nothing that I could eat.  I plan on writing a letter to the Prudential Center to make them understand why I was so upset about the seats and the type of food they serve.  Has anyone else gone to the Prudential Center and what did you think?

I was at the concert last Sunday night - and have to agree with ALL of your sentiments.  I went with my mom - she has already written an email to them - and I plan on doing the same.  And I also agree with the food thing - but to be honest - that's what I expected at a venu such as that.  At least they had water - but took the caps away from you and then you couldn't use the cup holders because you couldn't find them underneath your arm.  The guy sitting next to my mom was about 6'6" and had to be a good 275 pounds - not super obese - but a BIG football buff type of guy.  Talk about being crushed.  The stadium was gorgeous - I agree - but more than a bit ridiculous.   Good luck. Oh, and Jovi was AWESOME!!! Pam

Hi Pam, I am glad I am not the only one that sent them an email.  I hope someone listens to all the bad emails they are getting.  I don't think they would be changing the seats anytime soon but we can hope.  It will have to take a lot for me to go back to that stadium.

Interesting update from my mom.  My brother went to a devils hockey game thanks to a friend, and was sitting 3 rows from the rink.  Well he came home ooogling over how ROOMY the seats were, how plush, how everything was so wonderful.  So I guess if you pay enough, you have enough room.  hmmm, but I expected a difference to a degree anyway. I went to the concert twice.  I did not think the seats were any smaller than that of any other concert place I have been to, and there have been many.  As far as the food choices go, it was not more or less than any other.  Except for the sushi bar-that was new for me.  I was able to keep the cap for my water bottle and the cup hoolder came in handy.  But what I really want to know is-why were you sitting down at a BonJovi concert?!

Talking about small seats, I went to the Genesis concert at Giants Stadium and paid an arm & a leg for my floor seats.  FIrst of all the seats were flimsy folding chairs and everytime I moved, my chair would make noise like it was going to break and I would hit the floor at any minute. And the seats were so close together that someone on our row ended up breaking the plastic ties that were holding the seats together and we finally spread out towards the aisle.  I was so excited about being on the floor and ended up standing up thru the whole concert.  Needless to say I was SO sore the next day.  I'm going to see Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood and I'm hoping that MSG has bigger seats.  And no  I'm not on the floor. LOL

I saw Genesis from the floor as well.  Now those were some SMALL seats.  And we broke the plastic ties as well.  MSG seats are no smaller than an other, even the Rock.

The Genesis concert was WONDERFUL.  I'm hoping the band tours again and hopefully Peter will join them.  For the Clapton/Winwood concert, I'm in section 234 and hopefully the seats are a little bigger than those cranky folding chairs.  But then again maybe it won't matter as this concert is at the end of February.  And I'm scheduled to have my surgery on December 11th.
