NJ tummy tuck surgeons?

Hi, I had the DS three years ago and am now looking to have a tummy tuck. Does anyone have a good plastic surgeon the recommend? I saw Dr. Elkwood today and have an appointment with Dr. Capella on Thursday.  Thank you, Debbie

Hi Jacki, I have a 3 consults this week, my second one in NY with Dr. Sterry (I saw him last year). I tried going through insurance. bcbs sucks...i had everything....documented rashes with pictures, letters from doctors...they said no...hate them.  so i will pay myself. Hi -- I interveiwed five PS before I selected Dr Joe Capella in Ramsey.  I think he is awesome although the ride is a trip for me from Ocean County.  He did my lower body lift, boobs, arms, thighs and face.  With medical documentation from me, Dr Capella's office was able to get insurance to cover my lower body lift.

Dr Risen who is also in the same practice with Rose and Elkwood I met with too, and although I liked the practice, they would not help me with insurance approval in any way, and I felt I owed it to myself to give it a try. Good luck. Nannette

What medical documentation did you supplied to get approval?  I so far saw two surgeons and one surgeon who also specializes in bariatric surgery and who I thought would be more helpful was the same way in regards to at not trying to get approval for reconstructive surgery.

I went to my PCP for four consecutive straight months (no longer than 30 days inbetween each visit) and complained about rashes under my panni.  She gave me increasing strengths of prescription cream.  Armed with that documentation and photos that Dr Capella took, I was approved and ended up only paying about $1,500 out of pocket for that one procedure since Dr Joe was out of network.
