I've been home....

Just wanted you all to know that I got home on Thursday afternoon.  Surgery was Tuesday morning.  It was uneventful.  The hospital staff was great and very caring. I have some left sided pain, but am getting through it.  I don't take pain meds during the day, as it's not unbearable and it can cause constipation and I don't want that, so I walk it off and it's OK.  I do take it at night so that I can sleep better and that seems to be doing the trick. I have taken two walks today, each about 15 mins.  Not the 60 mins of cardio I was up to pre surg, but definately something.  I hope to be back at the gym for a light work out (like 20 mins) by Monday, we'll see how that goes. Got in all my liquid and protein today - ok, well, I have 8 oz left of my protein drink, but I'll get it in.  It's not easy, but I've done it. Have a wonderful day. Pam

Pam, so glad you made it without any drama! That in itself is very exciting! You must be thrilled to pieces to be on the loser's bench. Can't wait to follow your journey. Best of luck!

Already checked w/ the surgeon - I can go to gym whenever I want.  I can run, jog, ride a bike, do the elliptical or treadmill as long as I'm not lifting weights.  That's why I'm waiting till Monday and then I will be seeing how it goes and not over doing it.  Thanks! Pam

Glad to hear you did well too!  My only problem was today and that was taking all my medication.  Hopefully tommorrow will be better - it's all just getting used to the timing of when to take them. Be careful of the gym - my doc says off for 6 weeks so you may want to double check! Have a good day!! Vicki

i'm glad  you feel so good :) that is important as you already know by working in the medical field -- don't over do anything -- take things slow --you still had major surgery!!  walk walk walk and sip sip sip :) you will be fine
