now that you have made the decision to have surgery  or now that you are already post op  how do you view weight loss commercials or advertisements in papers??  i notice things like when they say they went from a size 24 to a size 4 and they have no saggy skin as they are standing there in a bikini -- and they still have BOOBS!!!!! ya right haha i notice in print ads when they have before and after pics that the person is dressed differently or standing differently which will shift the weight  i've noticed how companies for pills will change names but not how they advertise their product -- same story line just a different name  same thing with weight loss packaged foods that you have to buy in bulk -- different name, same story line  and in fine print it always says 'results are atypical"  and "with proper diet and exercise" maybe i am just too critical roberta

Commercials and ads are just that.  It isn't as appealing to say "Lose 200 pounds, and not know where that hanging skin is coming from - your ass or your knees and your boobs will look like golf balls in tube socks"  Just like commercials for let's say frozen pizza doesn't say "You will really enjoy the taste of this pizza - but it's roughly two days worth of calories and fat for most adults and if you eat it every day will have a heart attack in no time" Everything is deceiving - and I think people know this by now.  I think we know whether it be a food product, medicine product, or surgical procedure, the public knows they need to dig deeper to figure things out for themselves and see the risk and benefit for them.

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I have to agree with you.  I find my self laughing at most commercials and advertisements about weight lose.  I was one of those people who tried most diet pills becuase the diet thing never worked for me.  Know I just laugh at it and I just can't believe I fell for there advertisements.
