99% sure of Plastic Approval

Hi all:

I had my consultation with the plastic surgeon on Wednesday.  She is 99% sure that I will be covered by insurance and we are scheduling my panni and hernia removal for late January.  She was so impressed with the letter that my PCP wrote.  When I told her that I composed it and he only signed it she offered me a job.  Looks like I will be having about a 60 lbs. loss from the reduction of the pannus, mons and the removal of the huge hernia.

Now the waiting game from the insurance company.  As this is my second panni I am not at all scared but I am so looking forward to getting it out of the way (literally) and getting closer to my surgeon's goal.  Then I can get new knees and join everyone at the gym.

I will post when I get the approval.  I put a copy of the letter on my page.

Roberta, Has Ross seen Dr. Cedrone?  She is the PS that our surgical team uses.  I have Keystone Health Plan East which is one of the blues.  Have you talked to Matt about it?   How was the meeting last night?  How is school? Jeanne

hi jeanne dr. cedrone made us a little hot under the collar to say the least dr K referred us over there back in may after our appt -- cleared ross for surgery -- so we just walked over there --imagine walking all that way before hahaha and we made the appt and gave them all ross's insurance info and filled out a bunch of paperwork -- waited 3 months for the appt -- take the day off from work -- finally find a parking space in the lot over there -- we are not having a fun day in philly yet haha go into the desk -- pay the $30 co-pay -- wait to be called -- start to go into the room and the dr or whoever it was that was taking us into the room informed the lady at the desk that we do not take BC/BS Horizon NJ -- WHAT??????? so she asks us if we want to be self pay -- ummmmm NO!! nice time to be telling us -- what got me is that they had this info in May -- they took the co-pay -- and no one knows that they don't take that insurance -- bye bye  so now i'm going to call Cooper Surgical in Voorhees or Camden and see what they say  the meeting last night was cool :) there were 8 of us there -- we went to the 'graduate' meeting at 5:30 -- small and informal :) i loved it -- going back next month too  i have to go to the school in a little bit and sign a new contract -- i signed up for days but i think i really need to go at night -- i need to find a job with bennies as soon as possible and i can't do that if i'm going to school days -- and i start the tuesday after thanksgiving  can't wait to see you at the next meeting!! roberta
