Don't worry it will move again.  I hit a plateau in my 4th week and it did not move for about 1 1/2 weeks.  I don't now why this happens but it does.  Since then I losed about 2 lbs a week.  Good luck

hey melissa it will move :)  as long as you know that you are doing the right things then let it be --  couple of weeks ago i was hovering at 135/137 -- i normally do not step on the scale until the 22nd of the month -- but i want to make sure i'm maintaining right now -- and then today i get on the scale and it said 132 -- so it still moves -- i'm just worried because i'm home all day now -- and staying home means more grazing that you don't pay attention too -- not a good habit to get back into  it will move :)  hugs roberta

It is normal and you will lose the weight.  Why it happens is because your body figures out how many calories to expect to get in, how many calories to "expect" to get out through exercise...and adapts to keep from losing weight - it's gotten used to being fat and kind of likes it that way.  When it figures out that it's getting much less than it used to, bam, it goes into hibernation mode.  HOWEVER...it can't stay in hibernation mode forever, so it will just one day decide to get up and do what it needs to do metabolically and you will begin to lose the weight!  Also, fluctuating calories and exercise helps.  If you've been walking, try adding weights.  If you go to a gym and have been doing the eliptical machine for example, get on the treadmill instead.  It works differently, makes your body expend energy differently etc.  The fluctuation in calories from say 700-1000 or whatever range your nut reccommends also helps according to some, that way your body can't "get used to" what it thinks it will get.  One day will be 700 the next 900 the following 600, you get the idea. Follow your guidelines given to you by your surgeon and nut, get your water and protein in, walk walk walk, exercise exercise exercise and stay away from the scale for a little while - that's the toughest of them all! going through a pleatau is really frustrating.  my husband has had quite a few of them since surgery in january.  As far as it will last.. it depends... Remember .. you body is constantly changing... and is holding on to stored fat.  the plateau will end ..... It is completely normal and you will continue losing.  Have you tried uping your protein and water intake?   sometimes that helps.  Thank you also for your encouraging words ... it is so much appreciated.. hugggggggggs Christine

Hey Melissa, How are you????  Don't get down about the stall, it has happened to all of us, I think.  I don't weigh at home so I'm never aware of stalls.  Ignorance is bliss!  Just stick to your plan and this too shall pass.  Give me a call when you have a chance so we can catch up.  Best wishes. Love, Diane
