Hi Jeanne! So sorry to butt in, but a bit ago you gave me some good advice about obtaining my medical records for my new PCP. We sent for them and, in return, I get a letter asking for $62.00!!! Can you imagine? $62.00 for words all about me! This doc really thinks he is special! Thank you in advance for your help. Now if I could just figure out how to get my name where it should be.... Erin That amount is outragous.  In PA the request can cost no more than $23.49.  I am sure that such a rule applies in NJ also.  The problem is that you would have to contact your local state office to find out what cap they put on it there.  It is not unusual for a doctor to ask for an ridiculous amount, many feel as if the consumer isn't aware that there is a cap on the amount they can charge,  Good luck to you.  Let me know how you make out. Jeanne you are a real peach! Thank you for all of your great advice. I may just pick up my labs so the new guy has an idea of what's what. I am so happy to be free of the other jerk and starting anew. I just can't wait to get these 6 months of "diet" under my belt to proceed forward. Funny how when you make up your mind to do something you want it NOW. Wish I'd made up my mind years ago about the surgery, but guess it just wasn't in the plan for me yet.
